Starts out austere, opening up to reveal pretty floral cherry and strawberry flavors on a crisp profile. Nonetheless, this is firm and tight on the finish, despite the fine length. Best from 2017 through 2028. 74 cases imported.

Vinous: 91-94 Points
Good bright, full red. Medicinal red cherry, rose petal and licorice on the pure but reticent nose. Deep, sappy and spicy in the mouth, displaying excellent lift for the vintage. Finishes with terrific saline breadth and suave tannins. This very rich and sophisticated Rugiens will need time in bottle.
