Sterling Cellars and Slovenia

Located just east of Italy, and on the Adriatic Sea, the climate is perfect for the production of quality wines. The whites are full bodied and the reds are rich and an excellent companion to any meal. There are some new grape types with which to become familiar. On the list below are a few of those new varietals. The Malvazija is another grape that vinifies into a well-structured wine. Melon is the dominate element of the flavor package. Some wines are simply in need of translation. Modri Pinot is Pinot Noir and Sivi Pinot is Pinot Gris. Both the Capris Red and White are blended and soft ready-to-drink wines. Among the new offerings for this update is the Rumeni Plavec of Graben. Produced from grape to bottle by one of the most interesting winemakers you would every want to meet, the name refers to the color of the grape. This is a dry wine that will be a perfect companion to white meat dishes. If you have any questions about these wines be sure to e-mail us at sterling@bestweb.net, and keep returning to this site.
